The “Taipei Trilogy” is a loose thematic grouping of early films by Tsai Ming-liang, consisting of Rebels of the Neon God (1992), Vive L'Amour (1994), and The River (1997). While not connected through a continuous narrative, the films share recurring actors, most notably Lee Kang-sheng, often in loosely similar roles drifting through the urban landscape of Taipei.
